This intermediate-advanced-level course offers hands-on repair techniques for deteriorated or damaged wood elements, focusing on the structural repair of wood window components. Students will learn how to execute common scarf joints, Dutchman, and mortise-and-tenon repairs—critical skills for preserving or thoughtfully replacing original material while restoring structural integrity.
Instruction emphasizes craftsmanship, accuracy, and compatibility with historic materials and methods with modern resources. Students will complete guided repairs on sample components, reinforcing techniques that are widely used in preservation work.
All materials are included in the tuition. No experience is necessary.
Appropriate for students aged 18+.

More than 7 days before class → Full refund (minus a 10% admin fee) or a 100% credit toward another workshop (good for 6 months).
4–7 days before class → No refund, but you’ll receive a workshop credit (good for 6 months).
3 days or less before class → Sorry, no refunds or credits.
No-shows → Not eligible for refund or credit.
If we cancel a workshop → You’ll get a full refund or a 100% workshop credit — your choice.
